Experts are talking about the current Java exploit and recommending that if you’re not using your Java plug-in that it should be disabled or uninstalled to protect your computer from the possibility of falling victim to this problem.
We have recevied several inquiries about this issue and as a result have done some research to try to educate ourselves and better support our clients.
According to our research, there are a few basic steps you can take to keep yourself safe:
- Ensure your computer operating system is up to date with the latest updates from Microsoft
- Ensure your web browser is running the latest version – IE9 is not vulnerable to this attack. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 and have had your computer to us recently, we would have already made sure that you are fully updated and have the latest version of Internet Explorer.
- Make sure your antivirus is up to date!
